The CTBC hosts high-level Joint Business Council Meeting with The DEIK-TCBC
The Cameroon–Türkiye Business Council (CTBC) hosted a high-level Joint Business Council Meeting with its Turkish counterpart (DEIK–TCBC) on Wednesday May 7, 2025.
With main goals including: strengthening bilateral business ties, establishing a joint roadmap, and laying the groundwork for Cameroon’s participation in the Türkiye–Africa Business and Economic Forum (TABEF) scheduled for October in Istanbul, the high-level meeting held on the sidelines of the Türkiye–Cameroon Joint Economic Commission.
The meeting notably hosted such dignitaries as:
- H.E. Yaşar Güler, Minister of Defense of the Republic of Türkiye
- H.E. Volkan Öskiper, Ambassador of Türkiye to Cameroon
- Dr. İhsan Şahin, President, Türkiye–Cameroon Business Council
- Mr. Evren Doğan, Director, DEIK Africa Business Council
- Mr. Ahmet Demirtaş & Mrs. Aygen Yenigun, Former TCBC Presidents and current investors in Cameroon
- CTBC Board members such as Mr. Eric Njong (BUNS) and Hon. Albert Kouinche (Express Union)
In his opening address, Senator Nfon Ekoko Mukete, President of CTBC and Honorary Consul of Türkiye in Cameroon, expressed deep appreciation for Türkiye’s sustained engagement and called on Cameroonian businesses to become more active within CTBC and seize the growing opportunities for joint ventures and strategic partnerships.
Key discussion points included:
- The current state of Türkiye–Cameroon economic relations
- Strategic coordination toward TABEF 2025
- Identifying concrete private sector needs and opportunities
- A proposal to form a joint follow-up committee for implementation
Participants emphasized the importance of early preparation of the Cameroonian delegation to TABEF, with proper B2B pre-matching to ensure impactful outcomes in Istanbul.
The session closed with a group photo reflecting the enthusiasm and shared commitment among all participants to elevate Türkiye–Cameroon cooperation to new heights.
It goes without saying that The CTBC continues to encourage entrepreneurs, businesses, and institutions to become active members, take part in its activities, and begin preparing for TABEF 2025 in Istanbul.
