TABEF: Strengthening Cameroon -Türkiye Economic Partnerships for a Prosperous Future
The upcoming 5th Türkiye-Africa Business and Economic Forum (TABEF), scheduled for 16-17 October 2025 in Istanbul, stands as a pivotal event for boosting economic ties between Türkiye, Cameroon, and other African nations. Since its inception in 2016, TABEF has convened biannual gatherings of political leaders, business executives, and civil society; fostering deepening trade and investment relations.
In 2023, the forum attracted nearly 4,000 participants from 53 countries, resulting in close to 10,000 B2B meetings that sparked impactful collaborations. This rapid escalation reflects a broader trend: trade between Türkiye and Africa has grown eightfold in two decades, reaching approximately $41 billion in 2022, with Turkish investments exceeding $10 billion. Turkish contractors have executed over 90,000 projects valued at over $85 billion across the continent.
Değ['s Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEİK) aims to further escalate this momentum, targeting trade volumes of $50 billion, then $75 billion; highlighting the enormous potential for Cameroon-Türkiye economic partnership.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan recently emphasized that the relations with African nations are integral to Turkey’s global strategy, underlining that Turkish companies play a vital role in infrastructure, energy, and industrial development across Africa. Similarly, African leaders, including Chairperson of the African Union, affirm the importance of fostering mutually beneficial and sustainable growth through deeper economic ties.
Operating under the “win-win” principle, TABEF reflects the commitment of both Türkiye and African countries toward mutual growth and prosperity. The forum offers an unparalleled venue for networking, business matchmaking, and knowledge-sharing that advances key sectors such as infrastructure, energy, aviation, logistics, agriculture, finance, and technology.
As the official Cameroon-Türkiye economic link, the Cameroon Türkiye Business Council (CTBC) plays a pivotal role in connecting local businesses and investors to TABEF’s opportunities. Through active engagement, CTBC members gain privileged access to trade forums, strategic partnerships, and knowledge exchanges that support Cameroon’s Vision 2035.
The CTBC invites all Cameroonian businesses, investors, and stakeholders to participate and harness the forum’s power to accelerate Cameroon’s economic transformation, and as usual, will be facilitating a delegation of its members traveling to Türkiye for the event.
