Dear Members of the CTBC and Turkish Business Community,
It is with great pleasure that I wish you all a Happy New Year full of joy, good health, prosperity and all round success in your personal and professional lives.
2023 was a good year for us in our respective businesses and as a Business Council. The Republic of Türkiye celebrated 100 years and we all took part in the festivities as much as we could in Yaoundé. We took part at the TABEF 2023 in Istanbul which saw most of you form and create lasting business relationships with your Turkish counterparts and we on boarded new members.
As we begin this year 2024, I would like to remind you all of our ambitious yet very attainable trade goal for this year (hitting a target of USD 400 Million). I would also like to assure you this goal is achievable if you believe in yourself, take your business seriously and take part in B2B events and trade missions organized by the Council. These meetings are the perfect places to strike new business.
As we strive to achieve this goal, let us remember to work with integrity always, keeping in mind our respective Country’s vision in mind. We are all talented in different things, identify those talents, buttress them and trade on your strengths.
As you know, the Business Council is here to answer any questions you may have and to give you all the guidelines you need before you enter into serious partnerships or any trade deals. Please approach the Executive Director when you are not sure.
As we thankfully look back at 2023, the deals that were brokered, the new Turkish companies that set up subsidiaries in Cameroon, Cameroon businessmen who traded impressive volumes in the construction, interior design, engineering, technology, architecture, retail and agriculture sectors and all the other areas we recorded success in our respective businesses, I pray we intentionally enter 2024 with a resolve to close new and bigger deals.
It will be a good year for us all. Let us continue to share business secrets and trade practices with each other.
