Turkish Business Delegation in Cameroon for a Win-Win Partnership

October 23, 2023

Businessmen from the Republic of Türkiye have set foot in Cameroon, with the aim of strengthening the business partnership between Cameroon and Türkiye.

The opening ceremony of this important exchange and business meeting between entrepreneurs from both countries was presided over by the Minister of Trade, Luc Magloire Mbarga Atangana, on Tuesday October 03, 2023, at the KRYSTAL PALACE HOTEL in Akwa Douala.

Douala, Cameroon's economic capital and business city, hosted a week of B2B meetings between Turkish and Cameroonian economic operators.

Diplomatic relations between Ankara and Yaoundé have always been on the rise. This has always been beneficial for developing solid business partnerships.

With this in mind, the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM), in partnership with the Istanbul Minerals and Metals Exporters Association(IMMIB) organized a working visit with Cameroonian entrepreneurs with the aim of building bridges and breaking down trade barriers.

The opening ceremony was attended by a number of illustrious personalities.

In his speech, Türkiye’s Ambassador to Cameroon, H.E. VOLKAN IŞIKÇI thanked the State of Cameroon for its ever-growing commitment to developing, strengthening and diversifying the trade relations between our two countries.

H.E Luc Magloire Mbarga Atangana, Cameroon's Minister of Trade, addressed his prestigious guests: "You have arrived on promised, if not conquered, ground.”

Cameroon has been Africa's gateway since the advent of the free movement of goods and people. In declaring the proceedings open and wishing them every success, the Minister of Trade urged his guests to discover our country's other strengths, such as its atypical cuisine.

A total of 19 Turkish companies operating in the fields of engineering, construction, education, textiles, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics took part in this mission.

The rest of the day was devoted to business-to-business meetings. During these meetings, Cameroonian entrepreneurs were able to identify Turkish companies of interest to them, and to discuss with their managers the modalities of forming a lasting and fruitful partnership for all concerned.
