TİKA renovates the Nkol Mvak integrated health centre in Sa'a

As part of their efforts to contribute to the development of Cameroon's health sector, the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency TİKA renovated and provided medical equipment to the Nkol Mvak integrated health centre, located in the Sa'a district in Cameroon's Centre region thus restoring health services to more than 15000 people yearly and reducing maternal and infant mortality rates in the locality.

As part of this project, the paediatric ward, operating theatres and laboratories have been refurbished and fitted out with medical equipment, the previously inactive maternity unit restored, service capacity increased by installing electrical installations to ensure the storage of medicines, the use of various medical equipment and the safe continuation of diagnosis and treatment.

In addition, a water tank has been built to improve on the hygiene conditions and increase access to potable drinking water for both the health centre and the local community.

Receiving this incredible project on behalf of the community, The mayor of Sa'a, Jean Blaise MESSINA NOAH, lauded the the Turkish development aid model as TIKA develops projects based on the priorities and needs of partner countries.
