The CTBC was featured on Turkish Daily - Sabah's coverage of the October Türkiye – Africa Business and Economic Forum (TABEF IV) highlighting the commitment of both DEIK-Türkiye-Cameroon Business Council and The Cameroon Türkiye Business Council to increase the trade volume between Türkiye and Cameroon to 400 million dollars in the short term.
Stating that Türkiye has always aimed to develop relations with African countries on the basis of equal partnership, fraternity and mutual respect and aims to establish mutually beneficial cooperation, Ahmet Demirtaş, President of DEIK-Türkiye-Cameroon Business Council, said: "Türkiye has taken decisive steps to develop its relations with Africa with the win-win principle since 2003, when the Strategy for the Development of Trade and Economic Relations with Africa was put into practice.
He stated that bilateral relations have entered a period of rapid development since 2003, when the Africa Strategy determined by our President Mr. Erdoğan was put into effect, and while our trade volume with African countries reached 40.7 billion dollars in 2022, it is aimed to increase this figure to 75 billion dollars in the short term. DEMİRTAŞ said that in the current conjuncture where international cooperation is needed even more, Türkiye-Africa IV. Business and Economic Forum TABEF-IV, organised by DEIK at the Istanbul Congress Centre on 12-13 October, provided an important opportunity to address the agenda issues of economic and trade relations between Türkiye and African countries and to identify new areas of cooperation, and that in the meetings held for two days within the scope of TABEF, the issues of how cooperation in the fields of agriculture, agriculture-based industry, tourism, health, manufacturing, infrastructure, textile and women entrepreneurship can be carried further were discussed.
DEIK-Türkiye-Cameroon Business Council President Ahmet Demirtaş emphasised that they are working to increase the trade volume of 270 million dollars between Türkiye and Cameroon to 400 million dollars in the short term. He stated that they continue to work with Senator Nfon Ekoko Mukete, President of The Cameroon Türkiye Business Council (CTBC), our Cameroon Commercial Counsellor Tuna Özel, CTBC Secretary General Etonde Martin.
